„Dentistry” has a didactic and scientific research mission in the field of student training and consists in promoting a formative, modern education, focused on the subject of learning, adapted to the European requirements on dentistry, pragmatically oriented to the real needs of society and current education priorities.

Dentistry has the following main objectives:

• initial training for students of the profession, to acquire the necessary skills to be able to practice as a dentist.
• continuous training of students, through periodic training/improvement programs, through master’s university study programs.
• scientific, theoretical, and applied research in the field of medical sciences, in accordance with the needs of improving the educational process and with the educational standards and perspectives of the evolution of medical education at national and European level.
  The Dentistry Program within the “Dimitrie Cantemir” University of Târgu Mureș was established in 2017. The study program was authorized by the G.D. no. 615/2017 and has the mission to train professionals in this field.

The idea of establishing the Faculty of Dentistry was determined both by the old cultural-scientific traditions of our city and by the existence, since 1992, of the Postgraduate School of Dental Technique “Dimitrie Cantemir”, which was later authorized for the training of nurses. general practitioners and pharmacy nurses.

The faculty has a strong material base, the necessary laboratories and practice spaces being provided for a complete cycle of studies and a valuable teaching staff. In the next stage, the investment objectives include, among others, the construction of a dental clinic in the “Dimitrie Cantemir” Campus.
